Bellanet, an international development organization that works on knowledge sharing and ICTs for collaboration, is undergoing an exiting transformation. We began our journey 12 years ago, as an International Secretariat, headquartered in IDRC.

Bellanet went on to establish regional presences in LAC, Asia and Africa, championing its innovative approaches and building strong south-south and south-north partnerships, based on trust, shared values, quality work and a development focus.

The time has come for Bellanet to say goodbye to its time as a secretariat, to thank all those who hosted and nurtured its development so that it can begin this new phase as a strong, southern-based alliance.

The Bellanet Alliance of Social Entrepreneurs - BASE - is the new form of Bellanet which is an international network of people and organizations working to harness regional and global expertise on Information and Communications Technology tools and Knowledge Sharing practises that broaden collaboration, increase participation and transparency of action and diffuse lessons learned.

BASE is an evolution of the success of Bellanet's ground-breaking activities that began as a secretariat.  It works as a sustainable business alliance with initial investments from the International Development Research Centre and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.  BASE is administered by Sula Batsu in San jose, Costa Rica and also has presences in Uganda, Nepal, and Ottawa.

We are soon comming up with our new updated website with more information. Stay Tuned !!
